Representative Karen Carter Peterson's accusations are completely false.

ANNC 1 Sheila – your kids doing ok?
ANNC 2 Mmmm. Not so good.
ANNC 1 Why not?
ANNC 2 Our school is a mess.
ANNC 1 Well…you won’t believe this, but there might be a better way coming.
ANNC 2 I’ve heard that before.
ANNC 1 This time it’s real. Representative Austin Badon (Bah-dawn) has a proposal to
give scholarships to our elementary kids, so they can go to a better school…
ANNC 2 Scholarships?
ANNC 1 Uh-huh. You get to choose. Your child could go to a good Catholic school or any
other school.
ANNC 2 Where do I sign up?
ANNC 1 You can’t yet. It hasn’t passed the legislature. They’re still arguing about it.
ANNC 2 Just as I thought. They don’t send their kids to our schools….so they can’t see we
need help.
ANNC 1 You can do something about it.
ANNC 2 Right. I’ll give em a piece a my mind…
ANNC 1 Seriously. Call the legislature. Tell them every child deserves an equal opportunity
to get a good education.
ANNC 2 EQUAL opportunity
ANNC 1 No matter how much money their parents have.
ANNC 2 No child should be trapped in a failing school
ANNC 1 Tell the legislature to support the scholarship bill written by Austin Badon (Bah-
dawn). It’s all about equal opportunity.
ANNC 2 It’s about our kids’ future.
